Who We Are

First Universalist Church in Rockland is a liberal religious community open to all who are seeking to grow spiritually, a place to explore and take action in the world to be more kind and just, and a community where people strive to care for each other and build the Beloved Community of our aspirations. Our history is a rich one with organized Universalist religious activity dating back to 1820.

As Unitarian Universalists, we welcome the fact that different religious beliefs and traditions are inspired by common hopes and values. We can take many paths to the common good. The spirit and guide for that path in our particular living tradition is grounded in the Seven Principles and Six Sources of Unitarian Universalism.

Whether you are contemplating your first visit to Sunday services , looking for ways to get more involved, or want to become a member, we hope you will find what you need here. This can be a community of exploration for you and your children, if you have them. It can be a place of conscience to understand and advocate for issues of justice. And it can be a place of peace and reflection.
