Low and Local Potluck: September 12
Please join us on the second Sunday of each month after coffee hour for a Low and Local Potluck meal. They will be held in the Collins Room or outdoors if weather permits. The purpose of our potlucks is to share meals made from ingredients that are low on the food chain and/or produced locally. Click here for more information.

Justice Work
Low and Local monthly Potlucks & 10-10-10
On Sunday October 10th, our church community will join with others throughout the world in a global work party to reduce global warming. So far, there are over 1300 events planned in more than 125 countries! We will gather after the service that day for a low and local potluck meal followed by a work party to make energy efficient improvements to our church building. Families are encouraged to come as we will also have children's activities.Until then, learn more about 10/10/10 at 350.org
Join a trial canvass . Volunteers will be distributing weatherizing/energy information and passing out coupons, gifts and energy saving light bulbs.This is your chance to get involved, make a difference, and meet new people. The project is organized by Maine Partners for Cool Cities.

You don't have to have green sneakers to participate!
Approved for Green Sanctuary Certification
The Green Sanctuary Committee at the First Universalist Church in Rockland submitted a 26 page application to the national Unitarian Universalist Association detailing the church's efforts towards adopting practices that support sustainable living. In early November it was announced that our church was approved, thus becoming the 5th church in Maine to achieve this certification and the 115th in the USA.
